The Book, “All Aspects of Gökçeada” has been published as TUDAV’s 77th publication. The book examines Türkiye’s largest island, located in the far west of the country, from multiple perspectives. The 521-page book consists of 36 articles in Turkish with English summaries. The studies in the book cover Gökçeada’s geological structure and vulnerability to natural disasters, fossil forest plants dating back approximately 15 million years, the island’s history of human settlement, its unique geological formations that require protection, its archaeological assets, the biological diversity of the seas, particularly Mediterranean monk seals, seawater quality, marine protected areas, sustainable fishing, diving and eco-tourism potential, agriculture on the island, the island’s water resources and water management, wastewater and solid waste management on the island, and urban sustainability.
